The Palio dei Conti Oliva takes place in the medieval village of Piandimeleto where the noble family of Oliva (XIV-XV century) used to celebrate the brave knights returning from glorious battles with sumptuous banquets, entertainments and skill contests between the archers, who were competing for the Palio in front of their Lord. The Palio dei Conti Oliva takes place every year and at sunset the streets fill up with artisans, merchants, musicians, artists and comedians.
